Bamberger Straße 1 in Bayreuth is not an AVEST project. It is the project through which today’s AVEST partners first met and ultimately decided to found a company together.

At the time, the three-family residential building was developed and realized by an independent property development company led by Moritz Pensel. The individuals who would later become AVEST partners were buyers of the residential units, not project partners.

Precisely for this reason, the building holds special significance for the origin of AVEST.

A development project – and the beginning of a partnership

As part of this project, three residential units were sold:

• One to Patrick & Petra,
• One to Max,
• One to Nic.

There was already a long-standing personal connection with Nic, and through this relationship, contact with Patrick and Max was later established.

What began as a standard buyer–developer relationship gradually evolved into a structured exchange about construction quality, long-term residential development, and sustainable real estate strategies.

Even at that stage, several shared values became apparent:

• A common understanding of high-quality construction
• A long-term mindset instead of short-term speculation
• A strong interest in sustainable project development
• Trust-based collaboration

This shared foundation led to a question that extended far beyond the individual project:

"Could these shared values be systematically brought together within a joint enterprise?"

The founding of AVEST – a logical next step

Out of the relationships formed through Bamberger Straße 1, the partnership later emerged that gave rise to AVEST.

AVEST was founded as a direct result of collaboration and a shared set of values among the individuals who met through this project.

With the founding of AVEST, a clearly defined corporate vision was established:

• Developing high-quality, sustainable residential projects
• Building long-term substance instead of short-term exploitation
• Retaining assets in long-term ownership
• Thinking about housing across generations
• Setting technical standards that exceed market norms

Bamberger Straße 1 therefore does not represent AVEST’s first project, but rather the beginning of a shared strategic direction.

From an individual project to an international corporate vision

The path from Bamberger Straße led to larger and more complex projects, such as:

• Bismarckstraße in Bayreuth
• Münchner Straße 8 in Fürstenfeldbruck

These projects already clearly reflect AVEST’s present-day approach:

• Refurbishment and vertical extensions to new-build standards
• Top-tier energy performance (e.g. KfW 40 EE, QNG, DGNB)
• Use of resource-efficient construction methods (e.g. modular timber construction)
• Long-term asset retention without owner-occupation terminations
• Integration into the surrounding neighborhood rather than isolated developments

Based on this foundation, AVEST is now developing projects in:

• Switzerland,
• The United States,
• and, prospectively, additional markets,

With the ambition of creating high-quality residential space on an international level.
